Not good.
Where Stamford was once on the outer fringe of the cone of uncertainty,
we're now dead center in the predicted path. To be fair, that means that
two of the models shows it passing at least 75 miles west of us, five of
them show it passing at least 75 miles east of us, five of them show it
hitting Greenwich/Stamford/Norwalk head on. Actually, the ones showing it
hitting head on show it traversing southwest to northeast, which will
prolong the amount of time during which we will get the worst. There are
more models than in the overnight prediction because some of the models
don't kick in until the storm is within 96 hours.
Most of the models that show it hitting us head on show it spending a lot of
time over water just before hitting us, which means that we might get hit by
a Cat 2 or 3 vs. a 1.
I bought a rain suit, some flexible plastic sheeting (to cover windows that
may break) and a lot of duct tape. I also filled all my gas tanks and got
extra cash (credit card and ATM machines may not be working right after a
hurricane). And of course, I've put in a supply of water and dry food that
does not need refrigeration/freezing.
Please prepare. Hopefully the models that show it 75+ miles away will be
right, but ...
73s
Jon
