[CTSARA] mobile transmitter

Jon,

I agree with Tony...For "more Bang for your Bucks" the Yaesu FT 8900 would
be my choice. I have the Ft 8800 mobile and love it dearly , but wish I had
went ahead and opted for the 8900. You can go for the higher priced Ham
grade external speaker with better quality sound or do as I did to save
money stop by a "Pilot" or similar truck stop and pick up one of the CB
grade speakers. I got the small "Loudmouth" brand and have all the volume I
need. True about the extra antenna but there are some nice ones available.
The true "Dual band" receive feature is great if you like to listen on more
than one repeater at the time, or need to tune between 2 or more frequently
and it does a 50/35 watt output on 2m/440

Good Luck with your choice,

Dan Sanford
