Please the attached update on Hurricane Bill from the Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.  The text of the update is shown below. 

BILL STRENGTHENS TO A DANGEROUS CATEGORY 4 HURRICANE IN THE  ATLANTIC…

At 5:00 AM the center of Hurricane Bill was located at 18.0 North 54.9 West with maximum sustained winds of 135 MPH.  Bill is now a Category 4 Hurricane.  Bill is moving to the West Northwest at 16 MPH.  The latest forecast from the NHC is predicting that Bill will turn to the Northwest during the next 24 hours.  Bill is forecast to continue to strengthen somewhat and remain a Category 4 Hurricane for the next three days.

Bill is forecast to move well to the Northeast of Puerto Rico on Thursday as a Major Hurricane.  On Friday, a cold front moving off the East Coast is expected to push Bill to the East and back out to sea this weekend.  If Bill remains on its forecast track this weekend the only effects on the East Coast would be from sea swells which are expected to cause rip currents along the coast as Bill moves well East of Cape Cod on Sunday. 

The next update on Bill will be issued by the Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security on Thursday morning.
