Hi Dave (4BZ) es all,

Great to hear that both yourself and 6BT are able to come along and
participate. In this case, and as we won't now have a competitive 'Open
section station' perhaps it's best to just concentrate on either a single
or maybe a 2 station restricted entry??

Between us all, we have more than enough 100w rigs and antennas etc, it's
the Amps, yagi's etc that's needed. This should be looked as the Club
should have these resources available. I'm sure if Club funds are limited,
some individual contributions could be managed. Ideally, The club needs:
A standard 100w portable rig : eg Kenwood TS-590
A portable yagi : eg Hex Beam / Spider Beam / other
5 band yagi
A Solid state / HF amp : eg Something 500w+ and easy to tune
A set of band pass filters
Perhaps even a cheap club laptop??

Without this minimal set-up, activities and events will always be on
an individual basis. A little input from our Chairman / other members on
this topic would be valuable too if this proposal is to develop any
further.

In the meantime as we currently do not have this equipment, I suggest it's
best to concentrate on bringing at least 1 trophy back to Cork -
Jeremy EI5GM won the Pete Daly Cup in both 2011 and 2012.
