I've owned a 75A-1, still own a 75A-2, and 75A-4 with the 6 Khz AM filter. In my opinion, the 75A-4 with 6 Khz AM filter was the best AM receiver that I owned. I felt the A-1 and A-2 audio was pinched in comparison to the A-4 at 6 Khz. WIth that said, the 75A-1 and 75A-2 are the best sounding CW receivers (into a nice big 270G-3 speaker) in my opinion. I just love the sound of those A1's and A2's on CW. Just my personal opinion.

Is there a commonly accepted conclusion held among Collins receiver owners? The narrower bandpass of the 75A4 receiver might give it a negative for AM reception and an advantage for SSB reception??
