Add another type!

My 75A-4, s/n 25xx, has light red, "stippling" (lots of very small dots, NOT cross hatching) above S-9.  It also has the later 15-meter band, 20.5 MHz to 21.5 MHz, which supposedly started at about s/n 3640!

Garey, my 75A4 is serial #1560 and has a solid red bar above S9. I guess that fits the listing. 73, John, K5PGW

Found it.  From Rod Blocksome's 75A-4 Survey in 2000.

There were three basic types of S-meters scales used in the receivers.  Some
had "No Red" color on the scale, others had a solid red bar above S-9, while
a third type had a light cross hatched red bar above S-9.  An occasional
unit reported to have a light red bar above S-9.  It is hard to generalize
where the different types of meters predominated.  General trends from the
survey show:

Solid Red up to sn 2378
Cross hatched red sn 2395 to sn 3300
Solid Red sn 3395 to sn 4246
No Red sn 4400 to sn 5808

My A-4 (s/n 31xx) has a 'faded' red scale, which I kept.  After all, it's 'rare' according to Rod!!
