[Collins] s-line

They sold a bunch. Probably used the same serial number set for all, but
I don't know. Rod Blocksom did a survey of serial numbers that's posted
on the CCA web site. He did it initally not realizing the random number
decree from Art. I believe they ordered 99,000 tags and when they were
used up they ordered a new batch of randomly numbered tags beginning
with 100,000. By the time the models had changed a few times, and the
decor had changed winged to meatball (changes also decreed by Art
following stylists ideas for the company image) and then to Rockwell,
the whole reason for random serial numbers was negated, but no one could
tell Art anything about his decrees and they stuck. And so today
Rockwell 75S-3B bring more money than round emblem 75S-3B than winged
75S-3B. Just because their vintage can be determined by those decor
items, instead of serial number.
