Even in the Collins paint shops in the 1960s, it was necessary to have
all the panels of the 821A-1 painted the same day to get a matching
gloss because that seems to be affected by many things including
humidity and the exact drying oven temperature.
And for a repaint, it probably won't have the toughness of the factory
baked paint job. I have found an electric space heater in an old
refrigerator cabinet gets up to 180 or 200F and makes the paint tougher.
It also may be slightly darker.
