The Sherwin-Williams paint formula for both the cabinet and the trim ring can be found at

Any good paint store can work from this formula. That is you don't have to go to Sherwin-Williams.

For small jobs, like painting a cabinet, Harbor Freight sells a paint gun that does a very good job. That is the main gun that I use when painting cabinets although I do have larger guns as well. The link for this gun is

You do need to paint the entire cabinet. No matter how close the paint used on the lid "matches", you will still be able to see the difference between the lid and the rest of the cabinet.

I recently acquired a nice KWM-2A with brake but someone cut a hole in the lid to adjust a board he put inside the radio. (About 3/4 inches round).   I plan to remove the board  and short of finding a new lid, plug the hole with JB weld, drill new holes and then paint the lid, or maybe the whole cabinet.  (The lid with the hole is the only real problem with the cabinet).  I have restored a number of old boat anchors but never have tried painting cabinets.  I know there are spray paint cans available out there, but I am thinking of using my air compressor with a paint gun instead of using caned spray paint.  I have never done this.  I'll have to buy a spray gun to go with my air compressor.

If anyone can point out a site giving me some help on painting or give me some hints on what gun to buy, I'd appreciate it.  (I'm not sure what size or type gun to purchase.  Are there any published paint fomulas for doing the cabinet and ring on a S-line?
