[Collins] Replacement RCA connector

Ehhhh....not so fast young feller.....

The gentleman wants a phono connector with a CERAMIC insulator for RF use.
These don't grow on trees and I've never EVER seen any of these for sale
anywhere....period.....oh, except SSN who you probably know bought out the
Collins parts inventory when Collins exited the amateur business.

These CERAMIC connectors have never been on consumer equipment because they
didn't need to be and never will be in the future.

As far as these unit being no good.....read the next sentence.

As far as hogging out a hole and putting in a BNC or any other type of
connector......
All I can say is you are misinformed and need to wise up.

Mark....get the proper part from SSN and ignore the previous nonsense.

Regards

Holey instant inflation!

Methinks folk are trying to pull legs here.

RCA connector, unless I am way off base this is the same thing as a 25
cent phono connector. Or you can get them for free salvaged off
junked consumer electronics.

But wait. Why are you having to replace it? That should tell you
phono connectors are no good. So to keep from having to screw with
this later, replace it with a BNC. Then you can claim you did not
make the same mistake Collins made putting a substandard connector in
there in the first place!
