And according to the 8th and 12th editions of the 30S-1 manuals that I
downloaded yesterday, L102, the plate choke has part number
540-7979-000. Shown as 159 turns #27 wire. KWS-1 book shows its chrome
oxide wire. Interesting that the plate choke for the 32V-3 (L403) has a
different part number but also says is 165 turns #27 chrome oxide wire.
The plate choke for the 30L-1 is different.
That part number used in the 30S-1 is probably enough to get it a
federal stock number. With those two applications confirmed I still
expect the same part was used in commercial and military 1 to 2 KW
linears designed in the mid to late 50s.
