Hello Everyone,

Slowly but Shirley (not Laverne) I have been making
small gains with my old and dirty KWM-2.

Dr. G. has been a great help explaining some history
on Art's art to me and giving me recommendations on
proceeding. I found most of the manuals and parts list
but never found a schematic for a "Born-On-Date" 1960
KWM-2.

Q. If anyone has or could scan there 1960 M2
schematic, could you please email it to me and I would
be ever so appreciative?

I also will be getting a cabinet for it. This cab was
in Nam, got dumped in the drink, and ended up in
John's, W4NET, ham shack. The rig is still working but
inside a better cabinet now. I do not mind something
else with a history that needs TLC and painting. I
only wish CSI would tell me my M2's S#.

Q. The cabinet does not have a trim ring. Does anyone
have one to sell/part with which, again, would be
greatly appreciated?

The other things I can add to the server for future
info to others is the following:

1. Graingers carries "Simple Green" for about $15/gal
and quantity 25 flux brushes for $5. Although they
show it in their on line catalog, they do not have
"Green Kleen", a substitute for CP-43.

2. Radio (cellfone) Shack has DeoxIT at $10 for two
14gm bottles. First bottle is GNS for gold contacts.
Second is DNS for other contacts. This is excellent
cleaning chemicals that you only need a drop to do the
job.

3. Here are some web sites to find more info (manuals)
on the KWM-2(A), and other Collins gear and also known
in the military as a RT-718, which is part of the
AN/FRC-93 system.

a. http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/miltest/frc93/
b. http://www.kg7bz.net/Manuals_Pictures.html
c. ftp://bama.sbc.edu/downloads/miltest/frc93/
d. http://www.presenceknown.com/radio/screens.htm

There are other sites but I need to rearrange my saved
link pages. They are a mess now.

I know that I have a big job ahead of me after I
finish the cleaning up. That is changing out all the
old
capacitors.

Q. Has anyone made a list of the values of all the
electrolytic caps and any others parts that need
replacing after 47 years? I hate to reinvent the wheel
but, if not, I will and send it to the list.

Again my thanks to all that have helped me in my past
queries. Have a great weekend and maybe I will see you
in Melbourne, FL. this weekend.

73 es GLITC,
Bill
