Hi Henry,
First of all, the ball is not plastic. It is made out of Pyrex
(glass) If it was plastic, you would wear it out in a week.. I also lost
one in the carpet, but after five hours, found it, whew.. OK.. after that,
I looked around for a replacement ball like this, and actually, there are
some bread slicers (i.e., variable condenser) that use the same pyrex balls
to insulate the rotor from ground.. I did find one, and have it here
somewhere with the about 8 pyrex balls, and perhaps if I can find it, I'll
take it apart and perhaps save you some headaches.. Please note, I found
this bread slicer over 30 years ago, when I took my first "S" line PTO
apart, (after dropping the first ball) but I think I know where it is.. So,
cross your fingers, I have you email addy, and if your lucky, I can get you
one.. Best 73, Tony, WB8MLA
