[Collins] 75A-4 Power Transformer Paint

I am refurbishing a 75A-4 and there is rust and flaking paint on one
side of the AC power transformer.  Is there a recommended paint or color
to use?   Is there a recommended procedure to paint the transformer in
place without removing it from the chassis?  If I could find a suitable
paint to match the original that could be brushed that appears the best
solution.  Only the one (left) side needs painting.
