I've discovered that this radio while it is 100W PEP and 4 channel
crystal control would be an excellent choice for 60 meters. Might have
to adjust the power back a bit but otherwise, it can be a natural. One
other thing is that for someone working MARS frequencies, this would be
a great radio for that while not having to tie up your ham rig.

While it is USB configured, it appears from looking at the manual from
it's brother/sister or whatever relation it is, changing the frequency
of the channel element is all that would be required to change it from
USB to LSB.

I purchased a manual for the 32MS-1B which is the mobile version of this
one and it has a whole lot more information that the 32RS-1 manual
contains. Filled in some of the blanks. Now to find a place in the
shack to put it.

FYI manuals are dated in 1964. Now to find some of the additional parts
necessary to add 40 and 20 meters to it.

Here's what i need, Collins PN's of course.

Kit-Coil; 5.5-9.0 Mc. 567-4665-00, Includes:
  Antenna Coil 543-7737-00
  1st RF Coil 546-6038-00
R-F Coil X 3 543-4348-00
PA Coil 567-4655-00

Kit-Coil; 12.0-15.0 Mc, 567-4667-00, Includes
  Antenna Coil 545-3237-00
  1st RF Coil 546-6040-00
  R-F Coil X 3 545-3238-00
  PA Coil 567-4656-00

Now that shouldn't be to bad should it?
