If the diode is 100 volt PIV it is NOT sufficient for
the bias rectifier.  Remember that the peak to peak
voltage is going to be 2.828 times the input voltage. 
The rectified bias voltage from the 516F-2 can easily
be over 100 volts DC.

You need a diode with at least 400 volts PIV.

I realize that it is the same as the 1N4007 except
