I found a virtual exact match 8 ft. 3 wire gray power cord at the local
Ace Hardware. Ace 32311. $5.97 ea. They also have a 6 ft cord. Same diameter
as the old original. 16/3 AWG, SJTW style (round) with the USA color code of
black, white, and green. John K0LFA

I have a source right here in town for the genuine rubber-covered
cords. They come in 8 foot lenghts, molded plug on end, "SJ"-type rubber
covering, and 16 guage conductors. The 2-prong ones are .325 dia. according
to my old micrometer; the 3-prong ones a little larger (I don't have one
here right now to mic it). Our tool supplier here stocks them for all the
guys in construction who zing through them with their circular saws. I use
them to replace all those original junk cords on my Sears, etc. power tools
that come only 4 aggravating-feet long when new. They only run 11 to 15
bucks anyway. Let me know if you can't find them through a tool supplier.
Or, you could try Grainger at www.grainger.com. Look under "pigtail cords",
and one with an SJ jacket. Peter KA2SQJ
