[Collins] Best receiver?

One of the 51J or R-388 series.

The R-390 series is liked by a lot of people, but it
is a real "bear" to use to "surf" the bands.  The 51J
series / R-388 series have the "normal" main tuning
whereas the R-390 series has the mechanical counter
type.  Both series cover 500 KHz to 30.5 MHz in 30
bands that are 1 MHz per band switch position.

The 51S series is smaller in size but will cost a
whole lot more than the 51J / R-388 series.
