Actually, if you go with the Nichicon capacitors from
Mouser you can save even more money when rebuilding a
Collins 516F-2.

C2, C3, C4, and C5B can be replaced with the 33 mfd @
450 volt p/n 647-UVZ2W330MHH at a cost of $3.02 each.

C5A with 22 mfd @ 450 volt p/n 647-UVZ2W220MHH at a
cost of $2.24 each.

C6 with 10 mfd @ 250 volt p/n 647-UVZ2E100MPH at a
cost of $0.82 each.

C7 with a 10 mfd @ 160 volt p/n 647-UVZ2C100MPH at a
cost of $0.59 each.

If you are looking for a "single" source, C1 can be
replaced with a 0.033 mfd @ 1600 volt p/n
75-715P1600V0.033 at a cost of $2.44 each. Mouser
doesn't stock the 0.05 @ 1600 volts. However, the
0.033 should work just as well as the 0.05. Buying
the additional 0.033 mfd capacitor shouldn't add
anything to the shipping charges from Mouser but the
additional cost of shipping from Antique Radio Supply
would be more than the $0.12 additional cost from
Mouser.

The Nichicon capacitors are +/- 20%. However,
considering that the originals were usually -50 / +
80% they will be much closer to design values than the
originals ever were.

There is nothing wrong with using the higher priced
capacitors. However, I have used quite a number of
the Nichicon and haven't had any problems at all.
Thus, being a firm believer in the principles of the
conservation my finances and my energy (you can read
"cheap and lazy") I usually go for the less expensive
parts if they work as well as the higher priced ones.
