Ah, C50 for the time constant. I see it on the schematic.
It's probably leaking a little. The resistor might be off
value too.
I am amazed at how well this radio works given its age.
Are the Collins spinner knobs available?
I was looking in the radio and it seems that the original owner
used to clean the chassis, I can see subtle swirl marks on the
sheet metal. I've had to do this to my Heathkits. It's
painstaking work to get 20-30 years of grime off the metal from
between the wires and components. I use a clean damp cloth.
I also found a Collins maintenance depot sticker but it is
undated.
This weekend, I'll stop at the local "comic book" store. FYI,
comic book stores sell plastic bags and "acid free" backer
boards for storing comic books.
I'll get some of the larger size for my Collins (and Heathkit)
manuals.
I checked the VK site for setting up the PTO. I didn't see
instructions for setting the electrical linearity, just the
mechanicals.
I will be organizing my shack and workroom. I don't have
thaaaat many radios but my plan is to reduce my holdings in
about 5 years.
