I have gotten close, but "not quite a cigar", to the
finish that was done on the "A" Line by using
Rust-Oleum American Accents Stone Creations in the
gray color. It takes some practice to get the finish
looking "just right", but the last cabinet that I did
(75A2) came out looking pretty good.

For some reason, the gray colored paint seems to have
a different texture than the black or other colors.

This paint actually deposits a texture material and
you have to hold the can a fair distance away and do
it in short "spurts". The "trick" is getting even
coverage without putting on too much paint.

Of course, you have to spray the cabinet with St.
James Gray after you are finished. I have found that
Sherwin-Williams did an excellent job of matching the
color in both latex enamel and acryllic satin finish.
The enamel runs about $11 a quart and the acryllic
runs about $12 a quart. Both use water as a thinning
/ clean up agent.

Some Sherwin-Williams stores have the "setup" to load
spray cans with the paint. This, of course, adds to
the price. Myself, I bought an airless paint gun
during the time that Total Electronics wasn't shipping
any paint. Got a very good deal on a rebuilt Wagner
gun at Northern Supply ($39.95 on sale regular $79.95
for rebuilt and $159.95 for new). That gun works very
well with both latex enamel and acryllic paints.

If anyone needs the formula for St. James Gray I can
give it to them for the quart size. Of course for a
gallon you have to take the tint quantities times 4.
Also have Heath Apache Green, Heath gray that was used
on the DX-35, etc. cabinets, and one of the better
looking gray with slight green that was one of at
least 4 colors used on the Heath SB-Line. I haven't
needed any other colors since going to the spray gun
and Sherwin-Williams paint.
