Hello to the Collins reflector,
I have a Collins 32S3 in daily use but have problems I was unable to track down so far. First of all, about once a week, the power supply fuse blows when I switch the power on. I am using the recommended 4 Amp fast blow fuses. No problems at full output while transmitting or tuning the transmitter. Somehow the inrush current is taking its toll on the fuse. What is the remedy other than a current inrush limiter? What is the probable cause?
Second, there is no 6.3 Volt output at the rear RCA connector to illuminate the meter in the 31B-4 console. No voltage at the wire harness exit. My eyes are not good enough any more to trace the color coding. Where does the 6.3 V enter the harness? Does anybody know? I doubt an open wire in the harness.
Thanks in advance!
73,
Peter, NH6VB.
