One experience I have had with a UPS shipment involved receiving a 30L-1,
well packed, but with the 811A's left installed.in the tube sockets....
shipped from the Dallas area.
When received, two of the 811A's had vibrated out of the sockets, were loose
in the tube compartment, with the filaments broken and the other two tubes
were almost ready to fall out of the sockets.
I think this was due to the "Piggy-Back" UPS trailers bouncing on rough
Interstate Hwy 35 as they traveled at 75+mph down the road..... sometimes
the hiway segments are resonant with the truck speed and the trailers really
get to bouncing.
Moral....... remove the larger tubes, wrap in bubble wrap and store in the
compartment, regardless of how you ship the unit.
Just for what it is worth.
