Well the parts list calls for:

LA352BJPDETN SEMICOND DEVICE L NTWK (V14140) 353-0205-000

OTH the diodes used on the A6A2 filter unit originally have been 1N458
(which is exactly what you said: YELLOW, GREEN, GREY), they were later
changed to 1N4544 and finally 1N4001 were used to reduce
intermodulation. The A6A2 unit has only 3 bandfilters below 500kHz,
500kHz to 2MHz and 2MHz to 30MHz.

If 1N4001 are good with the A6A2 board why not try them on the A6A1
board which has the individual suboctave filters for the shortwave region?

It would be even worth to try the 1N4007 because of their construction
they are not only 1000V/1A rectifiers but are pretty good PIN diodes
too. The PIN diode characteristic is unique to the 1N4007.
