>From Rod Blocksome's survey data

There were three basic types of S-meters scales used in the receivers.
Some had No Red color on the scale, others had a solid red bar above
S-9, while a third type had a light cross hatched red bar above S-9.
An occasional
unit reported to have a light red bar above S-9. It is hard to
generalize where the different types of meters predominated. General
trends from the survey show:
Solid Red up to sn 2378
Cross hatched red sn 2395 to sn 3300
Solid Red sn 3395 to sn 4246
No Red sn 4400 to sn 5808

I have forgotten the difference in the meter scales of the 75A-4's.

Was the meter face with the upper red scale, an early or late 75A-4
when compared to the black on white meter face. Which came first in
other words.

Thank you.
