I suspect that the receiving operator would be hard pressed to tell the
difference between a properly aligned 32S-1 and 32S-3.  The surgery
necessary to convert a 32S-1 would not seem to be worth the effort.

The "syllabic VOX" and similar articles from HR and QST looked interesting.
Has anyone tried it and how well does it work?

The only commercial "true" break-in radio I am aware of is from TenTec.
They were designed for it and in the OMNI-VI+ it is truly a pleasure to use.
