I think the 455 KHZ IF transformer is a common item. Common to all AM BC
radios for decades. Look for a detector version. The windings are
probably a pie shape, wound with lots of air and low capacity. Its not
handy to wind by hand, but very difficult.

What are the symptoms of the IF transformer failure? With embedded
tuning capacitors, sometimes their connections go bad, sometimes the
solder connections from the coil wire at the internal terminals go bad
(eaten by flux residue or from a corrosive atmosphere, it doesn't take
much corrosion to eat a 2 or 3 mil diameter copper wire).
