[Collins] WTB: PARTS FOR KWM2-A

Gentlemen (and/or Ladies),
I am attempting to restore my much-beloved KWM2-A.  I find that I need T-5, 
a "transformer, intermediate frequency: 440 kc to 470 kc frequency range; 
Communications Coil Company part # X-083-1.  COLLINS PART # 278-0281-00. 
Mine has deteriorated and does not appear to be repairable.  If this part is 
not available, is it possible to "home-brew" one?  I noticed several of the 
other coils in the parts list have their specs listed, i.e.-the number of 
turns of a speific guage of wire, etc.  The wire in this is very fine, and 
seems to be wound around a form not unlike a very heavy soda straw.  I can 
see where this may prove to be a very difficult item to locate, and has all 
the potential for impeading my project interminably until I find a solution. 
  Please advise.
