Thanks much to all who responded.  My mailbox overfloweth!

I'd overlooked that the 32S-3 has a transverter output (got to look at
that schematic again!) but given the existence of the 62S-1, it makes
sense.  I'd considered the 62S-1 but pretty much rejected it as an
option due to the liberal use of words like "scarce" and "expensive"
:-). 

I was particularly interested when Glen K9STH mentioned the
Hallicrafters unit.  That'll be something to look for in Orlando
Saturday, along with, perhaps, the Yaesu that Dave ZL3FJ mentioned. 
I'll also look up the TenTec folks at the 'fest and see what they have
to say on the subject.  From what Jerry K0CQ was saying it might be a
fair bit of work to get the TT working well with my rig, so the
suggestion from Andy KC7KW that I build my own may be what I wind up
going with.
