There used to be wrinkle paint available in ham radio stores. I had a
can, but never did get a good wrinkle. It wanted to be baked just right
after application. By 1963 I KNOW Collins had extensive paint baking
ovens running 24 hours a day but most of the smooth finishes were epoxy
paints that leveled in the oven.
There might be some older handbooks with descriptions of how to make a
wrinkle finish.
At the CSVHF conference over a P&H 6m transverter box last month someone
told me of getting a good refinish of the St. James wrinkle using a
sponge and very thin paint. But that didn't add any more wrinkle, just
was a good way of getting the faded/dirty paint covered without filling
the wrinkle.
Have you tried a google search on wrinkle finish paint?
