Dale..... if you are using a 516F-2 power supply, part of the filament
string circuit uses the shield of the power cable for that part of the
filament circuit.

A common problem is the jumper connecting the shield to chassis/ground at
the power supply end of the shield becomes broken, due to repeated
rotation/twisting of the cable.

The ground connection is somewhat buried under the wiring and difficult to
see, unless you poke around a bit.

You might pull the power supply chassis out of the cabinet, turn it over and
check it out.

The fix is to repair the break and clamp the cable so it is not able to
rotate and break the conductor in the future.
