You can match almost anything with an L network and it can be a little more efficient than the T network. However the T network is much more versatile. With an L network you will at times have to change it's configuration depending on what you are trying to match. There are about a half dozen configurations of the L network. Series C
on input parallel L on output. Series C parallel L on input. Series L parallel C on output,  etc.
The T network eliminates the need for changing the configuration at the expense of not always being optimum but being able to match a much wider range without making changes to the configuration.
