For a friend (wouldn't do it for just anybody) I rewound the 40 meter
coil of a 75A3 that got subjected to the output of a Valiant. By being
very careful in counting the turns and remains of turns, I was able to
reconstruct it after cleaning off the old winding and soot from the
form. I relacquered it before I rewound it. Upon realigning afterward,
the setting was only a tiny bit off the original setting, if the
original was correct.
One of the fellers in local radio club had suitable wire for
replacement.
It can be done with care.
73, Guy.
