The variable IF runs from 3.155 to 2.855. Its second harmonic comes out
of the mixer stronger than the wanted mixer product, through the
frequency range of 5.7 to 6.4 MHz. A transmitter spur and strong
receiver birdie. The PTO tunes 2.5 to 2.3 MHz. Its second harmonic comes
out of the first mixer (in the transmitter) significantly stronger than
the desired mixer product in the 4.6 to 5 MHz range. Another transmitter
spur and strong receiver birdie. E.g. the transmitter WILL have an out
of band spur in that frequency range. The receiver will have extra
tunable birdies.
