Trouble is Rod WASN'T there then and tries to put sequential
significance to the S-line serial numbers. By decree from Art (as the
result of serial number affecting the selling prices of 75A4 in stores),
the S-line serial number were issued in random order. I READ the
component specification for those tags and it clearly specified random
serial number order.

The only things one can be sure of for ordering the production of
particular S-line units is the green production tag for fine detail, the
model or style (winged, transitional or round emblem) or vintage of the
manual issued with the radio. I suspect there have been 3 or 4 manuals
at least issued for the 75S3B because I wrote one of them (mine was at
least the second version) and there were circuit changes after that plus
the change of emblem. There are hints of production week from the date
codes on crystals (if original, like the BFO crystals) and maybe date
codes on tubes if original. But serial numbers do not identify
production order. SN 17300 might have been between SN300 and SN67321...

I still have the green production tag on my 75S3B and I know it was
before April of 1964, because I picked it up that month.
