[Collins] Interesting

Hello to all..

Was reading an E-mail on one of the reflectors from a fellow who stated that
he was under the impression that the Collins equipment had reached it's
peak, Collins things were not moving well,  also the prices were
dropping??..

The more I thought about this made me wonder if this has come to pass i.e. I
had a Collins manual for a 62S-1 transceiver up for sale. A copy of this
manual was sent to me directly from Collins in the 60's along  with a letter
that stated that they did not have the original Collins Manual in stock and
apologized for sending me a copy of the 62S-1 manual, they hoped it would be
satisfactory. All of this was at no charge from Collins. ( Can't beat their
PR efforts ! )  Anyway the manual did not sell,( and I am not trying to sell
it here), but I would have thought that the letter from Collins would have
been a nice catch for some of these collectors not to mention the manual.

My point being, maybe the fellow who stated that Collins had reached it's
peak knew what he was talking about??.. Personally I doubt it myself !
