Thanks to all for the replies. Most people mentioned pipe and some of
the longstanding techniques of using cigar tubes and film tubes, as
well as PL259 and PVC with aluminum wrap. K7DFW Rolynn sent a couple
links which describe a whole different idea that I still haven't quite
comprehended yet but still studying.
