I seem to remember that the 6EA8 can be used as a direct replacement for 
the 6U8A in the KWM2/2A and the 32S-line except for the Tone Osc.

6EA8's were the Collins recommended update for 6U8's in 75S-3(as I have
been told on the list). Every reference I have shows them as completely
intechangable.

If you want to stay with 6U8's,I have always been happy with the brand new/
original box tubes I've gotten from Lowell Thomas (k6kc@lightspeed.net).
Seems like they were 2 or 3 dollars each.  Harry KG5LO
