[Collins] KWS-1 genealogy

I am looking at a KWS-1, s/n 451.  The cover on the tubes in the final amp.
RF deck labels the tubes as 4X250's; however, the transmitter actually has
4CX150's in it.  I did not know until I saw this one that some KWS-1's used
4X150's.  I have not been able to find any information on this other than a
passing-reference to the fact that some used the 4X150's.

I would appreciate any "education" on this issue anyone may be able to
offer.
