The nuts are self-clinching fasteners that may have fallen inside the bottom
of the unit. They might be able to be repressed in their original holes. I
have similar problems when you overtight the screw.
If you cannot find the originals, an outfit by the name of PEM whose website
is www.pemnet.com may be able to supply them. Try type LK. You may be able
to get these special nuts locally at an automotive supply house, etc.
Barring that I would take an ordinary nut 6-32 I believe and cement the nut
to the opening with high strength adhesive. I would not use Super-Glue,
however. Build up a nice layer around the outside edge of the nut.
