Hi Guys and Gals,

Did you know... It's a mere 200 ( + or - ) days to Field Day 2004? Its
coming June 26 and 27th 2004!  Never too soon to start making plans and
insuring its on your calendar for events you want to participate in!

I would encourage ALL licensed Hams to plan on participating this year, on
your own or with a group! It's a great time to get together, learn about the
art of contesting ( even though technically its not considered a contest
-)  ) portable power sources, antennas and alternative methods of operation.
Maybe a chance to try some of those modes you have not tried before ( APRS,
ATV, packet, RTTY, PSK 31, OOOOOH and the dreaded CW?,  etc). Planning early
gives you the optimum opportunity to get those things pulled together tested
and under Field Day conditions,  improve your effectiveness as an ARES
operator. Whether it's a weather emergency, terrorist activity or wild land
fires you being the best operator and most prepared that you can be is
important to all of us!!!

Start planning early and get involved!
