Thanks to all who replied.

I think I will try the loop driven by the SGC tuner I presently have.
If it works out well, I will buy a waterproof model for permaent
mounting under the eves, or make some type of box for the one I have.
I've ordered some #26 antenna wire which should be pretty hard to see
from the ground when run around the edges of the eves.

In answer to a couple of comments, I anticipate running low power with
this arrangement.  Either my SG 2020 or my FT100D, adjusted for perhaps
50 watts.
