It's been years since I looked inside either of my Interceptors (one of
each), never noticed that the original included a separate preamp if that's
what you're saying, Pete. Only some slight control and tube differences
come to mind. Or was it something included outboard?

Oddly, the B works noticeably better than the original Interceptor(which
works quite well), though that could be attributed to any number of issues
like aged components, alignment, etc.

The other surprising thing is how well the Allbander down(?)converter works
for HF reception. Speaker leaves a bit to be desired, but it's a pretty
decent set up considering.
