[Clegg] Hello Clegg owners.

Pete,
The tube is an exact drop in (though more heavy duty) replacement for
the 6DQ5. As I have 2 working Apollo's in pristine condition, I have not
played with the converted one or my "rough" 4th Apollo. Do you know of
anyone with a working 62T10? I would love to get mine working this
summer. Are you going to Dayton this year? Have you decided to sell me
your Lil Lulu receiver yet? You must be tired of it by now (just kidding
but I still would like to find one to go with my transmitter).

Fred:
As I indicated in the previous e-mail, and I think we either talked
about this (was it Dayton(?), on the phone(?) years ago), I don't have
any info on the Apollo conversion. It might have originated from someone
who was a member of the Pack Rats VHF club and might have even been
published in one of their newsletters but I don't really know. The
conversion probably is not rocket science but I haven't had any time or
ambition to reverse engineer and document the change. The 8236's were
nothing more then sweep tubes. Conversion to 6JE6's, or something
similar (something that uses the same tube socket), probably wouldn't be
that hard to do.
Heck, you would probably drop in a pair of octal sockets and use 6146's
at reduced PEP.
