Hi Ed:
At the moment I am in the middle of a very large project. The building
of two Ham repeaters for two different groups [clubs]. So I really do
not have any time [between those projects, work and painting my Ham
shack and one other room here at the house] to take a look at your rig.
Tell me this...what exactly needs to be fixed or looked at? As to
knowing any other person who I could refer you too, to look at your
radio. I do know one Ham in Akron, Ohio [a long time buddy from the HF
frequencies] who is a repeater owner, owns at least three systems and
has the experience/skill and test gear to possibly help you. Let me
contact him via LL and see what he can do.
I recently had a crisis on my own workbench four days ago [Saturday]
here at the home QTH. While using my IFR service monitor [test gear]
something went "south" inside the equipment and smoke started coming out
of the box so I now have my own headache/problem to get this test gear
back online. I will need it when I start the alignment/testing process
with these two repeaters. Worse case scenario...I may have to ship out
this service monitor to a commercial shop for repair and/alignment and
that will cost me a pretty penny, no doubt. When it rains, it pours!! :-(
