Hey Pete -

"Toast" = shot, kaput, fried. Along the lines of burnt toast. I had
the same issue with one I have here, except it was the two position
band switch. Swapped it out of another rig in worse shape, but still
have hopes of ressurecting it one day and finding it a new home.

Any good openings down your way lately? I spoke with a guy in Maine
last night on 75 who later signed off to work some local 2m AM. Nobody
around here works AM on VHF.
