Welcome on board. We have not been getting many posts lately so maybe this
will spur some activity. I agree with the others statement about not
forgetting the Zeus, Venus, Thor and other Clegg gear. A friend had the
Clegg Venus in the early 60's and worked all over with a small 5 el beam
from Louisiana. In 1964 I participated in the second Operation Skytop from
Mt. Mitchell, NC. We carried a Zeus, matching RX and a 6 element Hy-Gain
beam and worked 700 QSOs on 6 almost evenly split between AM and CW. We
were to get a Venus but wound up with a 22er instead. Highlights were
working Sam and Helen harris (Sam in KP4 and Helen in W1). We had a nice
QSO with Ed Clegg and with Trav K9EBE of Hallicrafters. Hey I even met Stu
Meyer and LLoyd Hammarlund.

I had a Thor 6 a few years ago and at that time we had a fairly active group
on 50.4 AM.

I also saw a Clegg 6 and 2 transmitter with built in RX converter which is a
very rare bird.

I also found a Clegg cruiser in a early 70's magazine. Ed was not sure what
this was as there were at least 4 or 5 different Clegg companies including
being part of Sanders Associates.
