It appears my Wavetek 164 Sweep generator was damaged in shipping (
One handle broken off), plus it doesn't act right. One control also wobbles.
I am returning it and have just ordered the Wavetek 1080 Sweep
Generator. I should have it within the week.
My 100V developed a problem where, even in standby, the transformer
would start to humm and then blow the 8 amp fuse.
Turned out that C418A had a resistance of 1k, so was pulling the HV down
heavy. ( C418A is right at the Neutralizing plug socket)
I have replaced it, but the 100V still isn't right. Power output is all
over the place from band to band.
After all the hours restoring this Transmitter, I am close to giving up..LOL
Every once in a while something goes BANG under the finals, yet I see no
damage under there.. weird!
Scares the daylights out of an old guy when it Bangs like that!!
