First, thanks for all the suggestions and help.
Just as I initially suspected, it turns out that the cartridge is bad.
I decided I had nothing to lose so took peek under the foil cone and sure enough everything was corroded and the leads were not even attached to the inside of the foil cone, it's bad!!
It is an Astatic cartridge but no identifying numbers just a patent label.
Now, what to do next.
I have quite a few good high impedance mics but really wanted an original D-104 just because of the tradition and the fact that I have never owned own in over 50 yrs in the hobby.
I would really like to keep this mic authentic so where do I go for a real Astatic cartridge and which do I select if I find one, ceramic or crystal?
So the saga continues and would really love some more help in making this decision to keep this mic authentic.
Oh, almost forgot, I am looking for an original manual my CE MM-2 rf analyzer scope, not a copy.
Thanks & 73
Dave
