Bob
Checking all the connections with a good digital meter was the first thing I
did, good ground.
I have to believe that the cartridge is bad.
Not being familiar with the 104 I am not sure which cartridge is in the mic,
I am pretty sure it is the original though.
There are the two leads soldered to the back and the front is like a
slightly raised cone from something very shiny like a polished metal and
very thin and it does look like it has been slightly damaged(bent).
I think that there were only two cartridges used, ceramic and condenser,
which is best.
I would like to keep the mic original and high impedance for my boat
anchors.
Any ideas on what I have?
Thanks
Dave
